IEEE hints and tips workshop 23 May

Coming soon! IEEE hints and tips workshop

The University of York has an active subscription to the IEEE / IET Electronic Library (IEL) via the IEEE Xplore Platform, where you can access more than 3.4 million full-text articles covering Engineering, Computer Science, Technology and much more.
The University will be hosting a free IEEE Xplore tips and tricks session, including how to publish with the IEEE on Thursday, 23rd May 2013 at 2:30pm, which is open for all to attend. Please sign up at http://ieeexploreyork.eventbrite.co.uk . This event is run by an expert in using the IEEE Xplore database so if you want to learn more it really is worth coming along, especially if you use the database regularly for your research as you are likely to learn things that will make your search experience quicker but also more effective!
Register now and reserve your seat to learn how to find the articles you need for your work, time-saving techniques, new features to help you, how to publish with the IEEE and much more. Read more…

If you have any queries or if there is anything else you would like to know about the session please contact the Computer Science and Electronics Liaison Librarian, Tony Wilson (tony.wilson@york.ac.uk.)

Can't make it?

We hope to see as many of you at the session as possible but if you can't make it, the IEEE will also have a stand in the Library between 10:30am and 12:30pm. Drop by to chat with IEEE staff, find out what's new and pick up some IEEE goodies. We are also hoping to run another session in November so keep a look out for that!

Other databases you would like to know more about?

It may be that you do not regularly use IEEE Xplore but there are other resources such as INSPEC, Web of Science or ScienceDirect that you use more. Want to learn more about them? If so, let Tony know and it may be possible to organise something for these resources too.

Remember...

You can always come and see Tony for extra support with your literature searching should you need it. Just drop Tony and email to organise a suitable time for a 1-2-1 consultation!
